Terms & Conditions

Plain-English terms for a kids' app that costs £4.99 once, never nags for a subscription and never sells your data.

Last updated 10 August 2026

01The agreement

These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between you (the parent or guardian who creates the account) and HarfLand for the HarfLand application on iOS, iPadOS, Android and the web.

By creating an account, unlocking the app or letting a child play, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and accept these terms on behalf of your family.

02Family accounts

One adult account may hold multiple child profiles. Children do not create their own accounts and are never asked for personal details beyond a display name and an avatar.

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.

03One payment, kept forever

HarfLand is a single one-off purchase of £4.99. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal and no in-app currency that can be bought with real money.

The unlock covers every letter, world, game, story and future content update we ship to the same app, for all child profiles on your account.

When you buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google and is also governed by their store terms. Restoring the purchase on a new device is free.

04Refunds & cancellation

Purchases made on the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google under their own refund policies — we will always help you with the request.

For purchases made directly with us, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase for any reason. Email hello@harfland.com with the address used at checkout.

05Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use HarfLand for your family's own learning.

You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, scrape or extract our artwork, audio recordings, curriculum or code, or use HarfLand to build a competing product or train a machine-learning model.

06Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without invitation, or use it in a way that breaks the law where you live.

The contact form and support inbox are for genuine enquiries. Abusive or fraudulent messages may lead us to close the account.

07Content & accuracy

HarfLand teaches Modern Standard Arabic with native Saudi pronunciation. We work hard on accuracy, but the app is a learning aid and not a substitute for a qualified teacher or a formal curriculum.

We may add, change or retire worlds, games and stories as the app evolves. We will not remove the core alphabet curriculum you paid for.

08Availability

We aim for HarfLand to be available at all times, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, app-store review, device updates or outages beyond our control may interrupt access.

Most of the learning experience is designed to keep working offline once the app has loaded on the device.

09Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with HarfLand is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

10Changes to these terms

If we make a material change we will show a notice in the app and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use HarfLand after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Questions? Write to hello@harfland.com or use the in-app contact form and we will reply within two working days.
